If I Had Six Weeks to Change Your Hormones, This Is Exactly What I Would Do

Not a diet. A sequence. This is the order I would work in, one change at a time, and the reason each week comes where it does.
If I had six weeks to change your body and your hormones, I would not start with a diet. I would not start with a diet at all.
I would work in a specific order, because the order is what makes it hold. Here is exactly what I would do, week by week.
Week 1: Sleep and rhythm
Nothing else works properly until this does. Hormonal repair happens during sleep.
Wake up and go to bed at the same time every day, including the weekend. That single change regulates your cortisol rhythm, and a regulated cortisol rhythm is what puts everything downstream on the right track.
Get light in your eyes in the morning. Keep the bedroom dark. Leave the phone out of reach, because if you wake in the night and pick it up, you will wake fully, get up, and reset your alarm.
Week 2: Reduce the inflammatory load
Now we remove the biggest triggers of inflammation. In most households that means:
- Crisps and daily deliveries
- Diet soda
- Sugar
- Refined and processed oils
And we move to three structured meals. That is the whole week. Two changes, done properly.
Week 3: Stabilise blood sugar
Three rules.
Protein within the first hour of waking. This is the single highest yield change most women can make. It reduces the grazing impulse for the rest of the day.
Protein at every meal. Chicken, eggs, fish, yoghurt, sardines, whichever you actually like.
A ten minute walk after eating. Small, unglamorous, and remarkably effective, because working muscle pulls glucose out of the blood.
Week 4: Build a routine
Now we remove decision making, because decision making is what fails on a difficult day.
Repeat the same two or three meals. Prepare protein in advance. Put your supplements somewhere you can see them. If you do not have the time or the energy to cook, use a delivery service that fits an anti inflammatory pattern.
Your brain always responds to the cues around it. What is in front of you, what is in your fridge, what you repeated yesterday. If your environment is disorganised and the healthy choice requires effort every single time, your brain will choose the easier option automatically, particularly during periods of fatigue, stress and hormonal change.
This is why small environmental changes produce disproportionate results. As the saying goes, you do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.
Week 5: Resistance training
If you are not already training, this is where it enters. Resistance training, not more cardio.
Muscle responds very quickly, and it is your most effective tool for controlling appetite, stabilising blood sugar and protecting long term metabolic health. For a woman over thirty five it is the highest value thing she can do with an hour.
Week 6: Consolidate
Now we assemble the whole system. Everything learned in the previous five weeks becomes one protocol you actually live inside.
The objective is momentum, not perfection.
Why six weeks is a start and not the whole answer
This sequence is exactly the pattern the Hormone Reset Methodâ„¢ follows, except that in the programme each stage gets a full month rather than a week, across six months. That is deliberate. A month gives you time to absorb a change properly rather than performing it.
Most of what changes in the first four weeks is what women feel most sharply: energy, sleep, cravings, bloating. The deeper metabolic work takes longer.
And one thing to stop waiting for
There is no perfect week. There will always be travel, meetings, visitors, school tests, deadlines. Waiting for a clear stretch to begin is how years pass.
Start at five per cent of what you have been given. Improve by one per cent a week. Those are the women who get results that actually last.
This article is nutrition education, not medical advice.
